If the sink includes a garbage disposal both the sink and the dishwasher discharge wastewater through it. Dishwashers and sinks usually connect to the same drain. Again make sure you have as much drain line slack as you can get and strap the drain hose up high beneath the sink.

The drain hose starts at the bottom of the dishwasher and loops up to a higher point than the kitchen sink drain and then comes down to connect to either the kitchen sink drain or the garbage disposal. Hose clamps are sufficient for connecting the dishwasher s drainage line right into the garbage disposal. If the disposal is clogged with food debris dishwasher drain water may back up through the drain line.
